Hooray I’m engaged, what next?

Massive congratulations on your engagement, it is the most amazing experience and I couldn’t be more excited for you both. Planning a wedding is exciting but can also be daunting and a little overwhelming. So here are a few tips to get you started on your wedding day planning.

Firstly celebrate! Don’t worry about the details, just grab all your besties and enjoy the moment.

Put Pinterest away (I know it’s fun!) but sit down and really talk about you want from your wedding day. Do you love the idea of heading to a sunny destination with a handful of your friends and family to get hitched? Or perhaps you want a massive marquee in your parent’s garden with 250 guests! Think carefully about how you really want your day to be and whats important.

Look at the budget, work out how much you want to spend and if anyone might give you a little contribution. Looking at your priorities first will help you work out where to spend most cash!

This is likely to be your starting point. There are lots of online directories to review options but I love Coco Wedding Venues. Get lots of brochures and shortlist a handful to go and visit.

Focus your early energy on suppliers that can do one wedding a day, like photographers and videographers. These are the vendors who get booked up earliest!

A little help
Consider a little help, that might be a family member, on the day stylist or even a wedding planner. Asking for help is a good thing!
